NFTA Transit Police Make Major Arrest and Halt the Illegal Transportation of Weapons

BUFFALO, N.Y.- On Friday, November 22, at approximately 7:00 PM, NFTA Transit Police apprehended a 29-year-old man transporting multiple firearms with the intent to sell. The arrest occurred at the Buffalo Metro Transportation Center, located at 181 Ellicott Street, following information provided by the Homeland Security Investigations Border Enforcement Security Task Force.
The suspect, identified as Jaleel Battle, was traveling by bus from Atlanta, Georgia, to Buffalo, New York. Upon arrival, NFTA Transit Police executed a search warrant and discovered seven firearms in Battle’s possession, including a Glock 26 handgun and a Smith & Wesson M&P .40.
Battle was immediately taken into custody and has been charged with seven counts of criminal possession of a firearm, one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree, one count of possession of a weapon that has been defaced and one possession of large capacity ammunition feeding device.
