NFTA Unveils Vibrant Juneteenth Bus
Buffalo, N.Y.-The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) is proud to announce the unveiling of its new Juneteenth bus, a vibrant mobile tribute to the significance of Juneteenth and the enduring spirit of freedom. This specially designed bus will serve as a rolling symbol of the holiday's importance, spreading awareness and celebrating African American culture and history.
The Juneteenth bus is adorned with a colorful dynamic design that reflects the spirit of freedom, resilience, and unity. It will be seen all over Western New York as a reminder of the ongoing journey toward equality and Justice.
"We are honored to introduce the Juneteenth bus as a symbol to our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. ,"said Kim Minkel, Executive director of the NFTA." This bus isn't just a mode of transportation; it's a powerful statement of history and community. We hope it inspires conversations and education about this important celebration."
The ceremony included speeches from Patrick Cray, Juneteenth Parade Chairman and Crystal Edwards Founder of the NFTA's African American Heritage Committee.
In addition to its regular routes, the Juneteenth bus will be featured in various community events and parades throughout the year, starting with the Juneteenth parade on Saturday.
