Mrs. Fields is an Associate Court Attorney in Buffalo City Court of the New York State Unified Court System. Before her current role, she spent more than 17 years as an Attorney for Children in the Attorneys for Children Unit at the Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo, Inc. During her tenure, she exhibited unwavering dedication and fiercely advocated for children who experienced emotional and physical traumas. She also briefly worked as an attorney in the Civil Unit of the Legal Aid Bureau, representing indigent persons who had been victimized by predatory loans and fraudulent flipping schemes. Mrs. Fields testified before the NYS Assembly's Committee on Consumer Affairs and Protection about the effects of predatory lending on the WNY community.
Mrs. Fields' leadership abilities are evident from her involvement in various legal organizations. She served as Recording Secretary and as the Judicial Ratings Committee Chair for the Minority Bar Association of Western New York, as a treasurer and Board Director for the Erie County Bar Foundation - Bar Association of Erie County, and as a member of The Western New York Veteran's Housing Coalition, Center for Elder Law and Justice, Women Lawyers of Western New York – past President, Vice President, and Board Director. She was also an employee member of the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo, Inc.
Mrs. Fields' professional accomplishments do not solely define her. She was raised on the East Side of Buffalo by hardworking parents, attended Buffalo Public Schools, and worshiped on the West Side of Buffalo, demonstrating her deep connection to the community and the experiences that have shaped her. Mrs. Fields' family is a source of happiness and support for her. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Christopher P. Fields, a Buffalo Police Lieutenant and a United States Army Reservist First Sergeant, and their daughter, AJ.
