NFTA Transit Police
DIVISIONS
AVIATION
The NFTA Transit Police Department’s Aviation Division is comprised of sworn police officers, traffic specialists, detectives, K-9 officers, and support personnel. The NFTA TAPD Aviation Division provides traditional law enforcement services in addition to enforcing federal regulations associated with transportation security.
METRO DIVISION
The NFTA Transit Police Department’s Metro Division focuses on bus and rail safety in the city of Buffalo and throughout Erie and Niagara Counties. Transit Resource Officers help provide an on orderly and safe environment within the transit system, including during student commute times.
INVESTIGATIVE SERVICES
The NFTA Transit Police Department’s investigative services team handles a multitude of cases within the Niagara Frontier system. Detectives frequently collaborate with federal and state agencies to bring cases to successful conclusions.
