Executive Director's Message

Lawrence M. Meckler
As the public agency that operates the area's two airports, public bus and rail system, the Port of Buffalo, Small Boat Harbor, and transportation centers in downtown Buffalo and Niagara Falls, the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority endeavors to satisfy the Niagara Region's transportation needs.

The new millennium is upon us, and the NFTA's goal is to go beyond serving current needs. We hope to expand and improve Western New York's horizon by flying you to more locations at lower costs, opening up new opportunities by driving you to work, school, recreation and cultural institutions, and developing properties that will bring new businesses and job growth to this area that we call home.

There are many ambitious plans at the NFTA. The current and future expansion of Buffalo Niagara International Airport is critical to introducing businesses and tourists to our region. NFTA-METRO is aggressively improving customer service by implementing programs such as the Greenback Plan to save riders up to 30% in transit costs. NFTA-METRO is also adding 21 new state-of-the-art buses to its fleet and an entirely new blue, silver and red logo.

This site opens up another channel of communication with you our customers. Please use one of the e-mail response forms to talk to us. Give us an opportunity to provide you with the great customer service and information that you deserve and that we want to give you.
